i don’t have pretentious ideas about this site being any answer to Pope Benedict XVI’s encouragement to the Catholic laity to use the Internet though I’m not against that happening

yup, i’m that guy who used to be a Protestant minister for 18 years or so. it was a good gig but nothing beats being in full communion with the Church that Jesus instituted and which the gates of hell and well intentioned Christians from without and within the Church, not to mention and others, will not prevail against.

yep, i’m that guy who coined the phrase luminous miseries and who once upon a time kept a blog by that name. it tracked, quite viscerally, my journey into the Catholic Church. i’m forever grateful to the folks who contributed to that time, some of whom are now real friends to this day.

uh huh, i value that Protestant tradition {that word “tradition” just slays’em but it can’t be denied: tradition} i fell into when i stumbled on the Chief Cornerstone {i.e. Second Person of the Holy Trinity, also known and Jesus} and landed face first in the mercy of His Divine Love. it was that life changing encounter that began my {25 year} journey home.

yes, i’m a son {love you Mom}, a brother {i did the best i could}, a dad {one kid waiting beyond the vale, the other three waiting to empty the nest – won’t be long}, a dog lover, a commuter bicyclist, an urban sketcher and yes, still in love with THAT GIRL who i asked to marry me on April 1st nearly three decades ago – more remarkably, she still loves me.
